Since it opened in 1929, this grand old pastry shop has had its regular customers salivating over the endless range of sweets, chocolate croissants and gourmet delicatessen items.

    There were better days

    sagarra does not recommend this,

    When I was a child in Barcelona, Mauri was certanly a reference for good pastries. Nowadays it's only the bakery in a fancy corner that charges accordingly.
    It's not bad, but not fantastic for what it seems either.

    racist behaviour

    I've had a very bad experience there. I was born in Argentina (but living in Barcelona since 1990). As I got shocked with the price of a very very small apple pastry (3,8 euros) I asked why. Is it because the high quality of the raw materials used? Is t because some special process applied?? No, said the owner Mr.Mauri, you argentinian go back to your country where prices are not set free, here in Spain we can put the prices we want...so a very racist and bad experience to be honest. Obviously I wrote a complaning form...
