Lonely Planet review for Restaurant el Cafetí

This diminutive eatery is filled with antique furniture and offers traditional local cooking, with one or two unorthodox variations. Paella and other rice dishes dominate. It is down an arcade just off Carrer de Sant Rafael.

    Food Poisoning...

    choochoobecca does not recommend this,

Me and my two friends visited this restaurant on a saturday night. The walk to the restaurant is less than desirable..The walk there, we were called at by dozens of men, offered hashish and coca, and on the walk back, we walked by a line of prostitutes. The restaurant only had about 3 total tables of diners. The food is a bit overpriced for the quality, and my friend who ordered the mussels got food poisoning an hour after eating. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the great city of Barcelona.

    Delightful romantic dinner, highly recommended

    bskellie recommends this,

This charming restaurant was not only a cozy and romantic place for dinner, the food was good and reasonably priced and the staff was attentive and accommodating. We came for our anniversary, and will fondly remember this evening together at El Cafeti.
