  Unsafe scooters, wishy-washy employees

  We rented a scooter from these guys, and it had a nearly flat rear tire.. we discovered this a few blocks away when it handled poorly and made noise, so we brought it back.. they made us drive the unsafe scooter to their other location about 1-2 km away to trade it. They traded it without much hassle, but I was dumbfounded that they would ask us to do something so dangerous. So we got the new scooter, and all was good until the next morning (we rented it for 24h). The scooter was running and shifting rough, so I checked the oil and it was low, so I brought it back in for a top-up. I know that air-cooled engines commonly burn some oil, so I didn't think it was a big deal. They lied and said that the level was fine, even though they clearly added oil in the back of the shop (it ran and shifted much more smoothly right after we left, even though they said they didn't do anything). I asked them if it was OK if I brought the bike back before they closed, rather than just 24h after I had picked it up, since I had spent quite a bit of time getting them to fix up the bike. The shop manager seemed very agreeable and said that it was OK. When we got it back 20 minutes prior to closing (as I thought we had agreed on) it was a different story - they wanted to charge me another 20 euro for a half day. I had to literally yell at the guy who had just earlier agreed that I should be able to return it anytime before closing in order to not be charged for an extra half day for them to waste my vacation time.

  If you want a scooter that is in disrepair and will probably break down on you, rent from Mondo. The shop next door (Cooltra I think) looked like it had newer nicer scooters, but the price was like 15E per day higher, probably worth the difference.
