Behind Iglesia de San Mateo, this intimate place serves Andalucian-Arabic food and does so terrifically well. It’s hard to know where to start, but the options for mains include lamb with plums and almonds, prawns with ñora (Andalucian sweet pepper) sauce, and monkfish in a wild mushroom and sea urchin sauce.

Sitting as it does just away from the main eating hub of Tarifa, it attracts a quieter and generally more discerning crowd.
