Cádiz specialises in fried fish and seafood, and Las Flores, a kind of self-respecting fish and chippery, is one of the best places to sample it. To try a combination, have a surtido (mixed fry-up).

    Good traditional food for less.

    While there are many “freidurias” in Cadiz, Las Flores is one of your best options. Conveniently located just around the corner from the central maket, Las Flores is the place locals choose when they want to enjoy traditional frituras. With a wide variety of seefood, fried fish and competitive prices, this is a must go place if you want to try real “pescaito frito”.
    To get there walk up the paseo maritimo until you reach the “ficus milenario” a giant tree that has been there for over a thousand years. From there leave the beach behind you and walk straight through calle Rosa. When you pass the Mercado Central, you’ll see a square on your left. You have reached your destination. It takes about 10 minutes from the beach.
    You can eat there or take away. If you choose to eat at the place, note that there are different prices for sitting at the table or be standing at the bar (the last one is cheaper).
    Prices are shown on big panels on the wall.
    Food can be bought as a “tapa” “1/2 racion” or “racion”. The tapa will include 2 or 3 pieces (depending on the size). ½ racion is a regular size plate , and a racion is served in a big plate. If you are hungry and know what you want to eat, go for the racion, it will be cheaper. If you want to try out some goodies then mix them up by picking a “surtido”.
    You cannot miss the “cazon en adobo” and “chocos fritos”. My favourite though is “croquetas” (1/2 racion 2.50EUR, includes 8 pieces)
    You can eat for about 5 EUR per person.

    Now they are opening more freidurias. Las Flores II is in calle Brasil.
