Hi there
Am looking to rent a car in the same place we did last year in Malaga. Only problem was they made us buy insurance through them though I had already bought one separately (and much cheaper) through another company. They said that was because I had paid for the car rental with a debit rather than a credit card.. I am looking at that bill from last year and see a figure for what I presume to be insurance but am not sure. Could someone tell me what " SEG. TOTAL (RESTO DE)" means? That…

I'll be staying 3-4 days in Madrid in early June before meeting friends in the south of Spain. I was looking for a fun, possibly artistic/bohemian neighborhood to stay. Also, I'm told there is a high speed train that goes to Seville. Does anyone have information on how to get a ticket?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi everyone,

I'm landing in Bilbao at the beginning of June (day 1). My plan is to spend a night there (or maybe), then two nights in San Sebastian. 5 days after that (day 8) I have to be in Barcelona, and I'd like to spend those 5 days exploring something else. A friend has suggested maybe staying longer in San Sebastian and doing day trips to san juan de luz, biarritz, and hondarribia. I'm thinking maybe I'll just stay in one of those places instead.

Some forums also mention Zaragoza.

Once…

Hi there!

My trip planning for Spain is beginning to take shape, as I've finally narrowed down my choices to a particular region of the country. I will be flying into Madrid around mid-July, and plan on staying there a couple of nights. It's not my favorite, but I will be visiting a friend there and figured I'd check out a few spots there I've never been to. The only other guaranteed destination is Cáceres for a wedding (at the end of my trip) - the reason why I'm traveling to Spain in the…

So I'm just starting to plan an itinerary for a trip in September. Will be flying into and out of Madrid, and renting a car for all or part of the travel between cities. Our interests are history, art and food - so that's where the priorities are. I also love small old towns and more scenic drives as opposed to the fastest easiest routes. So I'm basically looking for any suggestions as to what might be worthwhile stops enroute from one city to the next or perhaps tweaks to this itinerary to make…

Hello! A group of friends and I are planning a short hiking trip through the Picos de Europa in July. We've planned out the route but unfortunately when we went to the website to reserve the nights at the refugios (http://reservarefugios.com/) it refused to accept any of our credit or debit cards. We tried multiple banks and multiple credit card agencies (visa, mastercard, etc.). According to the reservation website the cards have to be "Verified by Visa" or "MasterCard SecureCode" authorized…

Hi there, my husband and I would like to spend a day trekking the Caminito del Rey mid June. I know you have to book tickets ahead as I've been onto the website. Just wanted to know if anyone could advise what would be the best way to approach the area driving up from Estepona. We will then want to make our way to Malaga (all in one day).
It would seem to make sense to drive to Ardales and leave our car there and to make our way to the Caminito.
Can someone tell me how long it would take to do…

Hi, I'm hoping for some advice.
We are travelling to Spain early August, flying to Madrid, 2 nights in Picos de Europa and ending in Ponferrada.

What I'd like to do is take the kids to a couple of beaches onto the coast, so around, say Gijon, or at least somewhere that makes sense when you're going from Picos to Ponfe..

I don't know the beaches in this area at all and would love some recommendations. I have heard of playa de los catedrales but not sure if this is suitable for kids dipping…

Hi there

My fiancé and I are planning about 2.5 weeks in Spain for our honeymoon next April. One of the things we'd like to do is some walking - perhaps a multi day hike where we can arrange to have our bags moved for us. 4-5 days maximum.

We've never visited Spain before so keen to get suggestions as to which part of the country is nicest for walking in April? It doesn't need to be too gentle, we'd like to see some pretty villages, nice scenery, some history, wild flowers, etc. we can handle…

I'm looking for memorable day walks or scrambles in the North or West of Mallorca. Must be long/challenging enough to keep the crowds away, but not so challenging as to need climbing equipment, so far I have:
Cavall Bernat ridge
Torrent de Pareis (short rope needed)
Puig de Massanella
Talaia d’Alcudia
Any suggestions welcomed!
