The Buddha once reminded us that expectations are a source of unhappiness. If travellers can suspend expectations about what a hostel looks like, they may indeed find contentment here. Ostensibly a three-bedroom apartment retrofitted with bunk beds, Blue Backpackers is a solid option for people travelling on the cheap in a city starved for low-budget accommodation. Although functional, with decent access to public transport, the frat-house character that typically defines the guesthouse experience is noticeably absent here. Character notwithstanding, it's got a laid back feel which works for travellers looking forward to a day of exploring or enlightenment.
