  1. Everland Amusement Park

    This world-class amusement park, less than an hour southeast of Seoul by bus, has four separate parts. Festival World follows the classic Disneyland formula and encompasses a large area filled with fantasy buildings, thrill rides, fairground attractions, zoo animals (lots of monkeys), impressive seasonal gardens, budget restaurants, live music and an ‘Aesop’s Village’.   2. Korean Folk Village

    The more than 150 thatched and tiled Korean traditional houses and buildings in this village take all day to explore thoroughly. Go back to the time when long-haired aristocrats in horse-hair hats ruled their wives, concubines and slaves with a rod of iron. Soak up the special atmosphere of a Buddhist temple, experience the austerity of a Confucian shrine and relax in a jovial traditional market. See storehouses, a bullock pulling a cart, household furnishings and agricultural tools.     Incheon Landing Memorial Monument Hall

    The Incheon Landing Memorial Monument Hall is in Songdo. Old newsreel films of the Korean War reveal the ugly reality of modern warfare. Sixteen countries sent troops or medical units to help South Korea, and 70,000 UN and South Korean troops took part in the surprise landing in Incheon in 1950, supported by 260 warships.

    If you want something easy on the wallet, try the spotlessly clean Jjanggu Jonghap Bunsik , right across the street from the noisy carnival, for nice gimbap (Korean sushi) and mandu (filled dumplings). It's open 365 days of the year.

    With a bird's-eye view of Suwon, this comfortable 8th-floor hang-out has live music for half an hour every day at 21:00. A mix of soft Korean or foreign love songs make it a popular blind-date spot, and affordable beers and coffees probably help out as well.
