Hi TTs

I know this has been covered in posts from years past but was keen on updated info from recent travellers. I will be in South Korea next week and was intending to rely on withdrawing cash from ATMs using Australian VISA credit and debit cards. But I've read on the official website that you need a Korean bank account to make ATM transactions? Surely this cannot be right? Also heard that many ATMs will reject foreign VISA credit cards even though they display the VISA logo, and that…

Hello,

I'm visiting Jeju this summer and staying west of Seogwipo. I'm having a hard time finding bicycle rental places close by - perhaps this is due to lack of websites/language barriers etc. Any tips?

Thanks.

Hello,
Can anyone recommend any budget/hostel accomodation in Seorak-dong? Nothing seems to be showing on bookings.com (only for the nearby Sokcho). I've found the Seorak Mount youth hostel but it seems to be booked out for the 3 days in May I want to spend there.
Would anyone recommend bringing their own sleeping bag to South Korean hostel? I'd rather travel light.

Many thanks
D.

Hi I saw this poster on a station wall a few days ago but its all in Korean. Its about a train to the DMZ. Is this a public train then and if so, is there anything to see from the DMZ station, thanks. Oh, how much is a ticket, thanks.

I'm planning for a free-and-easy trip to Seoul (my first time to South Korea). My flight will reach Seoul by noon on June 7, and I will leave Seoul on June 11 morning. That means I have around 3 1/2 days there. I would prioritize the exploration of traditional culture and history, yet I would also like to experience the vibrancy of the modern city.

My first question is that if I spare one full day for an excursion to a nearby touristic attraction, what would you recommend?

Next, I have…

Hey guys
I'm going to be traveling to Seoul next week and the following. Was hoping to meet anyone around who'd be down to get food, hike, or sightsee. Let me know, I'll be staying in the Itaewon area

Hello,
I only want to visit Dorasan Station, the Dora Observatory and Peace Park and later explore around Imjingang, but according to the Korail website, there's only one train back from Dorasan at around 4pm which means way to long in Dorasan and not enough time in Imjingang. Is there more trains back to Imjingang or any other way I can be back earlier?
thanks in advance!

Hello
We are 2 going to South Korea next May. We will go to Hahoe/Andong from Songnisan National Park (after morning trekking) by rented car. I calculate that we will arrive in Hahoe / Andong in the late afternoon (18.00-19.00)
I have some questions about it if someone can help me:

  1. Is it better to lodge in a Hotel in Andong (60.000 KRW) or in Hahoe (Rakkojae 180.000 Krw)?
If we stay in Andong, it is cheaper, more restaurants (until later) for dinner, more to do at night.
    If we stay in…
