I am planning to go this summer (August) to South Korea and Japan.
Actually, I would like to do both destination in one trip.
And I have some questions regarding the boat transportation between Pusan and Fukuoka:
- is it easy to make the reservation?
- What is the frequency of boat?
- What is the ticket price?
- How long does it take?
Thanks in advance for your help
I'm looking into ESL teaching in Korea. Part of the visa requirement is a health check. I take medication for ADD. I take another medication at night to sleep, or else the ADD medication would have me up until quite late. I am stable, I have been on the same medications and dosages for a number of years. This would be my first time working in ESL teaching so I have been working with recruiters. I have been communicating with one recruiter regarding the above issue. I asked him if it would make…
Disclaimer :This will be my first solo travel, so please forgive any naivety*
My name's Luke, I am in my mid-twenties and I am from the UK. I am interested in spending 4 weeks in Korea - namely to get a sense of whether I would like to teach English over there - so your assistance would be greatly appreciated:
1) As i will be travelling solo, what are the best ways of meeting locals / other foreigners? For example, are there any app's or meetup's? Popular pubs for making friends?
I am interested in teaching in South Korea. I have a bachelor degree, but not a teaching degree/certificate. Anyone know of a program for teaching in South Korea that does not require a placement fee?
If they all require a fee, can anyone suggest a reputable company?
Can you recommend a local GSM operator that provides wide coverage in South Korea (I'm going to visit all country) especially for data transfer (mobile access to Internet). Are there a prepaid packages for short stay (for about 2 weeks) allowing mobile access to the Internet , calling in Korea and sending SMS abroad?
I heard that there might be problems with using a mobile phone / tablet from abroad. I have unblocked devices with 4 frequency bands. Will I get mobile access to internet…
I'm planning to fly to Jeju Island from Seoul. I've found that there are 3 companies that provides this service: Jeju Air (low costs), Eastar Jet (low costs) and Korean Air (flag carrier of South Korea).
I found that:
- for the Jeju Air the free baggage allowance for passenger by domestic flights is 15 kg + 10 hand baggage,
- for the Korea Air the free baggage allowance for passenger by domestic flights is 20 kg + 12 hand baggage,
- I couldn't find any info about free baggage allowance + hand bags…
Do you know if I can get better rate for Euro or US dollar by changing to South Korean Won?
I'm living in Europe so Euro would be more practical for me, but I can change it to US dollar if I would get better exchange rate.
I assume that everywhere you can pay with credit / debit cart. Is it true? However I don't like to rely on 'plastic' only I would like to have some cash as well before leaving Seoul.
Thanks for your advice
Anyone know where I could find hockey souvenirs in Seoul? I'm looking for national team and Pyeongchang 2018 pucks. I'll be there in two weeks so its not exactly the season. Thanks in advance!
My fiance and I are heading to Jeju Island and we're thinking of having an unofficial wedding ceremony. We're in search of a wedding officiant who speaks English. It would just be us two and the officiant at an outside location by the water. If anybody could lead us in the right direction we'd really appreciate it, thank you!
