Train

Mugunghwa (W10, 000, 2¾ hours, five daily) and Saemaul (express; W14, 800, 2½ hours, two daily) services run to Cheongnyangni station in Seoul from the train station in old Danyang, 3km from the main town.

Boat

From Danyang ferry terminal, boats leave for Janghoe (adult one way/return W6000/10, 000) and continue along Chungju Lake to Cheongpung Resort (adult one way/return W10, 000/17, 000) and Chungju Dam Ferry Terminal (adult one way/return W18, 000/30, 000). The boat schedule varies and if the water level at Danyang is too low for the ferry boats, you can catch a bus to Janghoe and pick the ferry up there.

One excursion idea is to take a boat (or bus) to Janghoe, hike up Jebibong (5km, three hours return) in Woraksan National Park and then return to Danyang by bus.
