Suwon

I'll be in Seoul for a few days in late September talking with people about pedestrian issues for my tv series. A friend has suggested I travel to Suwon to look at a neighborhood that experimented with being car-free in 2013. http://www.citylab.com/commute/2015/10/the-long-term-impact-of-a-month-without-cars/412408/

1) What is the best way to get from Seoul to Suwon? (I'm staying near the Seoul train station.)

2) What is there to see in Suwon besides this neighborhood (Haenggung-dong)?

Hi all

I'm going back to South Korea in March/April 2017. I'll be spending time in Busan and Seoul but have about a week in between. I visited Jeju and Gyeongju in 2014 and I'm keen to see different destinations on this trip. I was tossing up trying to get out to Ulleung-do, I'd like to go to Haeinsa, and I have been told that south Jeolla province is nice. I like hiking but have a dodgy knee so prefer shorter walks, and I will be using public transport to get around. So where would you go if…

I'm flying from Vladivostok to Seattle via Incheon. The flight from VVO-ICN is on Aeroflot. ICN-SEA is on Asiana. They are NOT partner airlines. I have a carryon and a checked bag. Layover is 5 hours. What's the best way handle the checked bag and transit lane. I have never had a connecting international flight, let aline 2 different airlines and a checked bag. All help is appreciated.

Hello everyone :)
I plan on going to South Korea for about 2 weeks, starting from October 1st. I want to find a good hike to feel and experience some of Korea's nature. I was thinking about 4-6 days, and the good options I've come across so far are:
Jirisan National Park
Songnisan National Park
Jeju Olle Trail
Sleeping in campsites is not a problem, although to my understanding, some of Korea's hikes has small huts to sleep in.
I would love to hike all over the country, but due to limited time, one…

Hi guys

A few questions that hopefully some more seasoned Korea travellers/locals can help out with!

First, I have a North Korean visa in my passport - having never been to the South before, should I expect some questioning at the airport (or, worse, refused entry?!)? Anyone had experience with this?

Secondly, here's the current itinerary - it's very rushed as unfortunately we only have a week to travel but here goes:

Day 1 Seoul (arrive on plane early in the morning)
Day 2 Seoul
Day 3 Seoul

Hi all,
how and where can I book train tickets
My friend and I need to go from Gwangju to Seoul beginning of September.
I just can't find prices, time tables, type of train.
I know there is a express train that runs between the two cities.
thank you so much

Hi there,

We have allowed ourselves a week to do that in the beginning of Sep. we will fly in and out of Jeju airport. Here are a handful of questions:

1) which direction to take(clockwise or anticlockwise) in order to take advantage of wind?

2) reliable bike shop recommendations. And the rough costs. Do they rent out panniers?

3) recommended stopovers.

4) recommended places to sleep: guesthouse, hostel, homestay, campsite, budget hotel

5) any other tips.

Thank you in advance!
