Itinerary
Days 1-2 Buenos Aires
Walk along cosmopolitan streets, explore famous Argentinean attractions and landmarks, and sample fine local fare along the way. Meat lovers will go wild over the world-renowned Argentinean steaks, while those with a sweet tooth will delight in caramel cookie-like treats called alfajores. Stay up late to dance the tango in a musical milonga, shop up a storm in elegant boutiques and be spoilt by the plethora of activities and places to visit in Buenos Aires.
Days 3-4 Iguazu Falls
Discover the jaw-dropping magnitude of Iguazu Falls, where tropical flowers, colourful butterflies and misty rainbows all add to the magic of this spectacular destination. The mighty roar of the falls is deafening so be prepared to be blown away by the power of nature in action. Admire the falls from either the Brazilian or the Argentinean side or, for those wanting a different perspective, why not take a boat tour on Iguazu River and feel the falls mighty spray.
Days 5-6 Paraty
Travel to the old Portuguese port town of Paraty, one of the more laidback places to visit in Brazil. Explore cobblestone laneways, petite boutiques, art galleries and flourishing courtyard gardens. A boat trip to the nearby islands on Ilha Grande Bay is a relaxing way to spend the day and an excellent chance to splash about in the clear, temperate waters.
Days 7-8 Rio de Janeiro
There is plenty to see and do in flamboyant, rambunctious Rio de Janeiro, the heart of Brazil. Visit Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado and admire amazing panoramas of the city, or head to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain by cable car. For some seriously eye-popping people watching, head down to the white sand beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. And what trip to Rio would be complete without a samba boogie? Yes, the only way to truly experience this city is to try to keep up with it!
