    Banca Do Blues

A rather nondescript banca (newspaper stand) by day transforms into a serious jam fest for blues bands certain nights of the week. It’s a great street scene, with folding chairs, vendors selling beer and the clash of electronically amplified chords firing up the blues-loving crowd. The schedule changes, so call before making the trip. At the time of writing, bands were playing on Friday night, starting at about 7pm or 8pm.

    Club del Vino

This elegant spot, reminiscent of a small winery, is prettily lit up with fairy lights from the outside. Inside there's a good restaurant, a pleasant fountain courtyard, an intimate theater that seats about 100, and a tiny so-called 'wine museum.' Live jazz combos (along with tango, folk, blues and even flamenco) regularly play here.

  8. Bar Plaza

Probe Viedma's soul by eavesdropping on ñoquis (meaning literally gnocchis or government employees) quibbling about the economy over coffee and cigarettes. Look for live blues and tango on weekend evenings.
