I'm planning on going to South Africa this February but have read a lot about how it's not an ideal time to visit Kruger National Park. Has anyone had any experience going on a safari in February? If so, did you see a lot of animals? I'm also curious if anyone has done the Baz Bus tour to Kruger National Park. Would you recommend it?
Cheers fellow travelers!
I am wondering if it is worthwhile to rent a smart phone so I can use the uber app while I am in Johannesburg and Capetown. I am an active 60 year old woman from the US traveling alone through South Africa next month. I have a number of day tours lined up for my 7 day visit and also have reserved an inexpensive south African mobile phone to use, but would also like the option of doing some spontaneous sight seeing but really don't want the hassle of driving. I am trying to decide…
We are a 28 yo couple,
We have a total of 13 full days for Cape Town and the Garden Route-
We prefer to drive less if possible, but we'll drive as much as needed :)
We debate whether to fly to PE or to George and start from there-
What do you think?
How would you split the days?
Is it required to order hotels in advance?
Which of the above areas would be preferable to stay in Jo'burg? I notice Roosevelt has the Botanical Gardens nearby, is this worth going to and more importantly is it safe for a lone female to walk around? Where as Boksburg is nearer the airport for my early morning flight. Maybe Roosevelt before my Krugar Safari and Booksburg after?
Any advice greatly appreciated!

Currently in my passport (Polish citizen) I have one single entry
South African visa from the beggining of this year.
This visa was issued for 62 days and I used 60. (from Jan to March)
I would like to visit South Africa (for tourism only) for the second
time this year (around October) for about 30 days. (I have not been in my country I am travelling still in Africa)
My question is: Will I be issued second visitors visa having already
one used in my passport (I can apply in Dar Es…
I am very aware of safety issues in Cape Town & take any advice seriously. With that said, I really love gentrifying areas, & all that they offer. I am a savvy traveler & don't take chances with my safety.I am thinking of staying in Observatory, & have had good recommendations for the Backpackers there. I will not go out alone at night, & plan to take taxis if I am solo. But if someone tells me as a foreigner to not stay there, I will consider the advice. Any input from a local?
