I arrive in Johannesburg on October 18th and depart Johannesburg on Nov 2nd. Flights already booked.
I am arriving from Nairobi and will be doing 10 days safari in Kenya and Tanzania . So, I was thinking to skip Kruger NP and visit there on another trip. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Also, due to the fire between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, perhaps I should do something else on these days?
Here is what I have so far:

Hi all, can anyone offer advice please? I'm flying on a one way ticket to Cape Town from the UK this Sat. I am on a 6 week volunteer placement and then plan to travel around and explore South Africa. I am NOT intending to outstay my 90 day tourist visa, but HAVEN'T made onward/return travel plans yet, purely because I have an extremely flexible itinerary and don't want to loose out on money by changing dates or even cancelling onward/return travel tickets. I need advice on entry requirements and…

Hi,

We were intending to travel along the Garden route in a months time, starting in Port Elizabeth and finishing in Cape Town. Bearing in mind recent fires, should we continue with our plans or use the R62 route for example. Open to suggestions.
Thanks.

Hey all-

I am spending roughly ten days in Cape Town and then will have two weeks to get to Jo'Burg for my flight back. In between I would love to see some of the Garden Route, the Drakensberg, Durban and Lesotho and do some stuff in Jo'Burg. What would be the most efficient way to do this? I'm specifically looking for great places to stop (hiking, food, culture) and also the best mode of transportation-possibly a combo of baz bus and something else to get into Lesotho?

The travel will be…

I wanted to make you aware of some unscrupulous dealings we've had with South African tour operator Russell Frankish of Green Bush Pig Safaris / Elements of Nature Trading.

He stole almost US$2,500 from us and we're not happy with his lies and horrible service. We would NOT RECOMMEND using him. He has made four specific promises (in writing, no less) that he would reimburse us, but has only made an excuse each time and the promise "tomorrow." Our only recourse is let others know.

We had booked…

Hello all,

Was hoping someone out there may have a recommendation for a low to mid price range place to stay in the Tamboerskloof neighborhood in Cape Town. Ideally no more than $50/night. Hostel, B & B, guesthouse. Any sort of lodging would be great. Thank you so much in advance for any help!

Cheers

NYE in Swellendam

Good day,

Over New Year's Eve we booked in at Hermitage Huisies at Swellendam and had the opportunity to explore Swellendam a little bit. It's a beautiful town, not expensive, and if you like swimming, there are dams to swim in as well as Witsands beach if you are willing to drive for about 45 mins.

I did a slightly more details trip report here:

Oh, and I would certainly recommend Tredici, the resaurant, for breakfast or…
