Karaoke entertainment in South Africa

  1. A

    Cool Runnings

Part of a nationwide chain of Caribbean-themed bar-restaurants, with DJs and live bands at weekends and karaoke on Sundays. Forget about reggae – the music on offer is the ubiquitous rock and blues; it’s nonetheless very popular.

    Toby Joe’s

Brookes Pavilion itself has seen better days and had a lot of closed-up shops when we visited, but there are two huge party bars frequented by a young and studenty crowd. Toby Joe’s is a cavernous pub, filled to bursting every night. There are live DJs at weekends and Sunday deck parties on the wooden terrace. A ‘smart casual’ dress policy means guys can expect to be turned away if they’re wearing flip-flops.
