Lonely Planet review for Savoy Cabbage
The long-running Savoy Cabbage remains a great place for inventive cooking, and gives diners the chance to try local game meats, like zebra and wildebeest. The tomato tart is legendary, as are the cabbage rolls.

Timeless elegance
lizardy recommends this,
Savoy Cabbage rises above Cape Town's restaurant fashions, being more the 'little back dress' of the dining scene. Despite being around for ten years, Savoy Cabbage still manages to impress.
The dining space is beautifully simple and classy (like that LBD), modern glass against the old brick walls and the cabbage accessories.
The food is excellent. The menu changes to include seasonal products and unusual items, all wonderfully prepared and presented. This is classical food with modern twists, tasty and well thought out. The wine list is fantastic.
The service fits with the ambiance, good and neither fussy or overbearing.
A main staple in the Cape Town wardrobe, Savoy Cabbage is that timeless elegance that gives confidence when choosing between the many good restaurants.
