Lonely Planet review for Africa Café
Touristy, yes, but still one of the best places to sample African food. Come with a hearty appetite as the set feast comprises some 15 dishes from across the continent, of which you can eat as much as you like. The décor, different in every room, is fantastic. Bookings are advised and it’s closed on Sunday from June to October.

Not too pricey so anyone can afford to go. A must stop for any visitor to Cape Town shores.Good for: atmosphere, Groups, service

A Quick Fix...
afrobennett recommends this,
Although, as a local, I generally avoid the joint, for the first-time-traveler to Africa this similarly named café offers a "quick fix" of this great continent. Although the food is just short of wonderful, it is surely the atmosphere that defines this experience - walk past on any night of the week and you're greeted with hip-shaking, foot-stamping, "get up and dance" tunes that bustle out the front door and into the street in a manner that is unequivocally African.
