Cape Town

Rock Climbing activities in Cape Town

  1. A

    Abseil Africa

The 112m drop off the top of Table Mountain is a guaranteed adrenaline rush, and the cheapest place to book it is direct with the operator, whose office is just off Long St. Don’t even think of tackling it unless you’ve got a head (and a stomach) for heights. Take your time, because the views are breathtaking. Tag on a guided hike up Platteklip Gorge for R195. The kloofing trips to gorges around Gordon’s Bay involve jumps varying between 3m and 22m.

  2. Venture Forth

Excellent guided hikes and rock climbs with enthusiastic, savvy guides. Outings (around R500 per person) are tailored to individual requirements and aim to get you off the beaten track.

  3. B

    Mountain Club of South Africa

This club, which can recommend guides to serious climbers, also has a climbing wall (R5); call to check on opening times for the public.
