   First established in Crossroads in 1979, this community-based health organisation has six projects running in the townships, including a weaving factory in Khayelitsha’s Site C and a printing project. Women are taught how to feed their families adequately on a low budget, and the crèche and various projects enable them to earn an income through producing rugs, wall hangings and other crafts. Philani goods are available in shops around the Cape.
