Day 1 Johannesburg
It doesn't always have the best reputation, but Johannesburg has fascinating, vibrant places to explore like Soweto, Alexandra, Rosebank Flea Market and its wonderful museums.
Days 2-3 Kruger National Park
Created to control diminishing animal numbers due to hunting, Kruger National Park became official in 1926 and is now deservedly one of Africa's premier safari parks.
Day 4 Swaziland/Hlane Royal National Park
Once the private hunting ground of the Swazi royal family, Hlane Royal National Park's vast expanse of bushveld offers an amazing opportunity to track elephants and endangered rhinos on foot.
Days 5-6 Mozambique Beach Camp
One of Mozambique's many unspoiled beaches, Ponta Malongane is a popular diving spot due to its clear blue waters, extensive coral reefs and amazing tropical marine life.
Day 7 St Lucia Estuary
St Lucia Estuary is home to thousands of varieties of birds, mammals and reptiles - with its most popular residents being the hundreds of hippos and crocodiles.
Day 8 Zululand
The Valley of a Thousand Hills is the traditional heartland of the Zulu nation and its magnificent scenery is dotted with tribal communities amid the rolling hills.
Day 9 Durban
South Africa's second most populous city, Durban is a tourist magnet thanks to its wealth of golden, sandy beaches and glitzy nightlife.
Days 10-11 Drakensberg
The highest mountain range in Southern Africa, Drakensberg - known locally as the Dragon Mountains - is home to an amazing array of flora and fauna.
Days 12-13 Lesotho Highlands
Nestled like a small island in the middle of South Africa, the kingdom of Lesotho is blessed with beautiful mountain ranges and endless hiking trails.
Days 14-15 Wild Coast/Cintsa
A charming little town on South Africa's Wild Coast, Cintsa has stunning beaches and friendly locals, whose lifestyle is still deeply rooted in tribal traditions and customs.
Day 16 Addo Elephant National Park
Addo Elephant National Park was created in 1931 to protect the region's 11 remaining elephants. Today there are over 450 elephants in the park, as well as endangered black rhinos.
Days 17-18 Garden Route/Tsitsikamma National Park
Protecting both land and sea, Tsitsikamma National Park is a spectacular place for walking and wildlife viewing - dolphins and southern right whales are visitors, along with baboons, monkeys and birds.
Day 19 Oudtshoorn
Oudtshoorn is the ostrich capital of the world. There are literally thousands of ostriches being farmed for their meat, leather and feathers in the area.
Day 20 Swellendam Wine Region
