My wife and I are seriously interested in touring Madagascar (maybe 3 to 4 weeks). It's expensive to get there from the NW US so we'd like to "amortize" the travel costs over an extended itinerary (read; more countries). Over the years we've been to a lot of African countries and the possibilities of connecting airline routes out of Madagascar are slim. Still, is there some reasonable way to connect to one (or two) of the following -- Zambia, Tanzania, Angola, Gabon, Cameroon, Mozambique…

Simoni

Hello, in few days I'll be in Shimoni and around there. I'd like to get a budget accommodation where there are NOT so many tourists, simple with local atmosphere. Any tips?

After that, what kind of activities are there? Snorkeling diving?

I'm going on a 20-day self drive camping trip to Namibia in August and having booked the holiday in reverse order (goodness knows why) I have everything sorted except for the first 10 days. I have the following questions regarding my itinerary (listed below):
Does the following itinerary work in your opinion? And am I staying too long in any of the locations? Do I need to book all the campsites in advance? Your advice on the itinerary and any great campsites would be really appreciated.

Does anyone have information or know of a guide or best way to visit the Aha Hills, and perhaps visit the Xai Xai village? I have 2-3 days between safaris, in and out of Maun.

If you have other suggestions it would be great! In Maun for Bush safari, then Zambezi Classic Safari to Kasane, and back to Maun or somewhere else for a couple of days without a travel agent being involved.
Much appreciated!!
