hey guys and gals,

We are a Canadian Chinese couple and we will be in Marrakech from July 1 to July 5, and we are looking to do a 4 day/3 night Sahara tour from July 6 to 9. I inquired a few companies and got quote for around 330EUR per person (based on two people). We are looking for 2-4 additional folks to join us and for a 6-people group the price could possibly drop to 160EUR per person, for 4 days 3 nights, including driver, guide, accommodation, dinner. Please pm me if you are interested…

After my friends bailed on the Kilimanjaro+safari trip we’d planned, I searched through Thorn Tree about how to organise one yourself but found surprisingly little info. Having now come back from my trip, I thought I’d put down a few notes to help others who find themselves in a similar position.
Here’s the tl;dr version:
• it’s MUCH cheaper to organise at the last minute in TZ. I don’t think any more money is going to the guide/porters so the difference is less of your lucre going into some…

Hello! I'm traveling to Tanzania for the next month to volunteer. I've been told that the tourist visa is $50 however the volunteering visa is $200. Is this true? Do I have to pay that much to the country to help?
Thanks

Spring flowers

Hi,
We are travelling from Namibia to Cape Town middle of august, thinking of making a stop to enjoy the flowers.
Can anybody, please, tell if it would be possible to do as a day stopover, coming on the bus?
I am looking at Goegap or Namaqua. Best one?
Can you do this renting a car or a bike locally??

Any answer most welcome!
Erik

In Uganda when you speak of adventure places all ideas run to Jinja, with the Nile this city is known to have some of the best adventurous activities like white water rafting, Bungee jumping, kayaking, horse back riding, quad biking, zipling, canoes e.t.c. So how about a traveler who has done all this and yet he/ she still wants more adventures? We can't keep giving the same activities all the time right? because experience matters and it has to create new memories for travelers. Last weekend i…

Hello fellow travellers!

I am currently preparing for a trip through the Republic of Congo. I am starting the trip in Moloundou (given that I'm entering from southeast cameroon), and I will be ending in Brazzaville. I am an experienced traveller and have been in the Congo before. Still, I was wondering what the highlights are, and what the nicest route would be. Also any recommendations of how I can best travel? Train, bus, car? I heard that Odzala NP is beautiful, but apart from that I am not…
