We'll be visiting Kidepo National Park in January 2018 and we are particularly interested with the cultural aspect of the area.
How can we organize a hike to the Morungole mountain to visit the Ik tribe, knowing that we are on a self-drive safari and are not part of a tour? How can we organize a visit to the Karamojong Manyattas and a kraal visit?
Does the UWA organize such visits? Can we book these visits just by dropping in at the UWA office in Kidepo when we get there?
Can anyone recommend a place to stay in Goma? I'll arrive midday then leave the next morning for the Volcano Trek. I'm not looking for anything special, just clean and preferable with ensuite bathroom. Maybe in the $50-$75 range? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
My husband and I are visiting South Africa in November and plan to spend two nights in the Garden Route. We originally planned to stay in Knysna but are now reconsidering after the recent fires. We of course would be thrilled to support Knysna as it recovers from these devastating fires, but are also wondering if Knysna is currently an attractive/appropriate destination for tourists. Since we only have two nights in the Garden Route and will have traveled very far to get to South…
I am planning a trip to Tanzania in September and hope to do some scuba diving either in Zanzibar's main island, Pemba or Mafia. I plan to visit Zanzibar anyway because I hear it is a beautiful place.
Is is worth scuba diving in Zanzibar or should I pay the extra bit to visit either Pemba or Mafia and if so which one of the two?
I understand that diving will never be a budget friendly activity but I love the sport so will find the money to do it somewhere but want to make sure it is…
We heard that there are several campsites within the Palmwag Concession (not the lodge, but the "wild" camping sites like Aub Combretum Camp, Hein's campsite etc.). We would like to see if we can fit this in our self-drive through Namibia in Oct/Nov, but information is hard to find...
Any information on coordinates and road conditions would be greatly appreciated! :-)
Hi, I found on the web suggestion for using 'Budget Rent a Car' and was wondering if anyone had any experience of using them?
Also would 'Chauffeur Drive' mean that the driver is included?
The price of £600ish does not seem to bad for two weeks
I'm going to Madagascar next week and I have a few questions.
- How commonly accepted are US dollars and/or Euros?
- How widely available are ATMs?
- What are the ATM limits for withdrawals?
- If I end up with a lot of local currency will I be able to change it back at the airport when I leave?
