Lonely Planet review

Look at the homepage on the website; there's no photoshop tricks - it's truly like this. This oh-so-mellow resort is all about epicurean indulgences: relax in your tastefully designed bungalow (they blend tropical hardwoods, traditional leaf & high-quality furniture), enjoy a sundowner on your own terrace, snorkel over sensational reefs just offshore, snooze in a hammock, treat yourself to a healthy meal at the wonderfully laid-back over-the-water restaurant, or kayak over translucent waters.

Proprietor Grant Griffiths is a good guy who ensures that there's a positive ambience. Beach-wise, it's a bit less overwhelming - you'll have to do with a narrow strip of sand. One thing is sure: after several days here, your mission to relax accomplished, you'll find it difficult to pack up and leave.

Description

Fatboys is a secluded resort in the western province of the Solomon Islands. We are renowned for having an overwater restaurant a short Kayak away from the famous Kennedy Island. The restaurant is over a coral reef and customers can snorkel around the resort viewing some of the best snorkeling in the Solomon's. The surfing which is a ten minute boat ride from Fatboys is definitely the final frontier for surfers wishing to have their own breaks without the disturbance of mass tourism. Fatboys Resort has amazing views of an inactive volcano. Customers get picked up by the local Dive Shop called Dive Gizo at their desired time from the resort. The diving in the Solomon's has been described as one of the best in the world. Hiking and nature walks can also be organized from Fatboys with bird watching, butterfly watching etc If you want to visit the last undiscovered paradise before its too late come to the Western Province of the Solomon Islands.
