HIT Casino Perla and HIT Casino Park are the company store - nothing makes more money in Nova Gorica, and it's all from the Italians from across the border. Both casinos offer all the usual games - American and French roulette, blackjack, several types of poker, baccarat - and there are almost 1500 slot machines between them.

Grajska Klet
If you've won big at the casino or just want to treat yourself, the place to go is the 'Castle Cellar' on the ground floor of Kromberk Castle, one of the best restaurants in the region. It specialises in using fresh local produce, including Adriatic seafood and Soča trout, and will happily cater for vegetarians.

Church of the Annunciation
The narrow, single-nave Church of the Annunciation near the Kostanjevica Monastery has interesting stuccos. In the spooky crypt is the tomb of the Bourbons (grobnica bourbonov), which contains the mortal remains of the last members of the French house of Bourbon, including Charles X (1757-1836).
