Hi,
My two friends and I will be in Slovenia on 8-15th(Wednesday-Wednesday) of july.
I have some questions:
1)Is it so difficult to travel in Slovenia without a car(we're 19 so we cannot rent one).
2)How do I get from ljubljana to trieste?
3)Since i'm without a car, and friday-saturday i'm in trieste, where and when to sleep in which nights(bled and lubljana i guess).
Thank you!

Hi all,

I am booking a surprise 30th birtday trip to Slovenia at the end of the month and have been advised to book up some accomodation as it is really busy then, but this means pinning down an itinerary! This is a lot easier when there is the other person to talk it though with, although as it is a surprise, this isn't going to happen!

Therefore, if anyone has any thoughts, tips and help on the below route, that would be amazing! Pace, things I should include/take out etc. We like to keep…

Im helping my beloved 50-60s parents' upcoming central-europe trip. I was wondering if there were any recommendations on a day trip: b/w Bratislava or Hallstatt. They like historic sites, grand architecture, natural beauty. not really into beaches, partying, galleries.

They have a day trip near the end of their trip from vienna, and my mom asked me which would be better. Usually much more valuable knowledge here vs official sources, so help a decent young man out

Day in Bratislava or…

We're looking at a 5 night trip in Slovenia, Croatia and maybe Austria next February.

It looks like we will be flying to Zagreb as the flights are far cheaper. The plan is to drive straight to Ljubljana and spend 2 nights there before heading to Lake Bled and spending one night there. We then plan to work out way back to Zagreb to leave the car and Fly home. We were thinking about spending 1 maybe 2 nights in Zagreb, but this depends on whether there would be anything else between Bled and…

Can I take my bottle of beer down to the seaside and watch the sunset? Or is it illegal to drink outside here?

I have about five days to see Ljubljana, Lake Bled, Bohinj Lake, and more. I'm a hiker, and I'd like to spend part of the time taking some day hikes in the mountains. It would be nice to find a guesthouse, hostel, or cabin in a relaxing setting from which I can venture off on hikes or just enjoy the environment. Please let me know if you have recommendations for a general itinerary and/or specific places. Is it possible to do get to some nice spots in the mountains via public transportation, or…

Dear Forum,
We will be visiting friends in Slovenia in about 3 weeks time, but we arrive in Venice. We have 3 nights and 2 days in Venice before we leave to go to our friends. Any suggestions on what we can do while we are in Venice? I know this is the Slovenian forum, but maybe someone can give us some advice? We are a family of 4. Any suggestions please?

Is there someone who has climbed both Triglav and Half Dome (Yosemite National Park, USA) or Angel's Landing (Zion National Park, USA)?

As someone who has done the Half Dome day hike a couple of times (and is still in comparable condition), how difficult (fitness), but more importantly ‘technical’ or ‘scary’ is Triglav as a 2-3 day hike, summiting from Zasavska koca na Prehodavcih or Dom Planika pod Triglavom? (Comparing the trail/ridge/protection areas of Triglav with the cables of Half Dome…
