I will be travelling to Slovenia from Munich in the first week of July 2017. I would have to attend a conference in Munich before going to Slovenia hence my return flight ticket has been booked by my company from KL (Malaysia) - Munich - KL. My interest lies in nature, hiking and off-beaten paths. Museum and churches are not really my interest unless it is really worth it to visit. My trip will be completely dependent on public transport.
Hence, this is my planned itinerary:
Day 1 -…
I will be there next month and am hoping to do some interesting spelunking, out of the ordinary. I know the regular tour involves the train ride. Has anyone done abseiling here? If so, I would like to know how difficult it is and any other useful tips on that would be highly appreciated. Also, is photography allowed inside the cave? Thanks.
I will be going to Bovec in mid May for 2 days. Does anyone have any suggestions for good biking (mtn or road, beginner-ish) or canoe/kayak/rafting tours?
Would you recommend renting a bike and just going on our own?
Any good day hike suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
I have been to this web site. But I have not figured out how to get one of their hiking maps.
I will arrive to Slovenia from Italy...not first to Lj. where there is an Alpine office.
Are hiking maps readily available from towns near the Italian border?
A friend of mine will start hiking from Maribor on the Mountain trail all the way to Ankaran. He's starting on June 2nd, but I can only join him a few days later. I'm trying to see whether it's going to be possible for me to catch up with him somewhere along the route, in i.e. one of the mountain huts. Does anybody have any info if there's a public transport connection, or some other way that would be possible?
I will visit to Ljubjana soon and for me it was very difficult to find out transportation to visit Logarska Dolina (LD), which is one of the best nature destinations with great mountain views and outdoor activities. In internet there is contradictory information about public transportation and tourist office didnt answer my e-mails. So finaly I send e-mail to hotels in LD and ask how to visit.
I found out that there is public bus from Celje to LD only in summer season (July and August)…
I will go to croatia via Koper. But I plan to visit Piran first then go to Koper. Is there any suggestion for the accommodation near the Piran bus terminal?
My friend and I will visit Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle on 10/4. We have already buy the bus ticket to go to the cave entrance directly. But we have 2 big lugguge. Is any lugguge storage for us when we visit the cave and the castle? Can we keep the lugguges in the ticket counter or not?
And is there any public transportation from the cave to the castle except taxi. And how much for the price of taxi from the cave to the castle and the castle to the bus station(beacause we will go to piran…
I'll be in Slovenia next week, coming from Rovinj, Croatia and I have a few questions.
is Koper worth it (in terms of architecture, view and atmosphere (less tourists means better atmosphere for me) knowing that I'll have visited Rovinj (and Porec maybe) right before it ?
does anyone know what time is Hrastovlje church open ?
or should I ask for a key somewhere ?
I'm looking for advice about taking a backroad from Hrastovlje church to Italy (either Trieste, Monfalcone or even…
