Hi, I'm planning a trip to Slovenia and Hungary in September. I'm starting off in Zagreb, where I was going to spend a couple days, then taking the bus to Ljubljana (unless someone convinces me to spend more than 2 days in Zagreb). I really want to see Bled (and everyone seems to think you have to see Piran, though I'm not convinced).
After a few days in ljubljana I want to take flixbus to Budapest. Is it necessary to buy flixbus tickets ahead of time? Do weekend buses tend to sell out on this…
Howdy! We'll be arriving in Ljubljana and after a day or two moving on to Croatia. Would I be able to get an unlocked SIM upon arrival to the international airport? Are the plans specific to only Slovenia or can I organize a SIM that would work in both countries? Thanks in advance!
Hi, I'm trying to work out a fairly easy 3 day/2 night walk. My girlfriend is not a great walker so it needs to be fairly easy. I was thinking of walking up the voje valley to stay in Vodnikov dom na velem polje hut for the fist night. On the second day cutting across to either Zasavska Koca hut or to Koca pri triglavski Jezerih hut for night 2 - and then the final day walking down the valley of the lakes to end at Savica falls.
Is this do-able? and is this fairly easy walking? I can't see much…
My friend and I are looking at a 6-8 day trip around the Slovenia/Croatia/Bosnia/Montenegro/Serbia later this summer.
We'd be reliant on trains/buses (ideally trains). Can anyone recommend a good itinerary of well connected locations we could hit in that time?
Ideally We'd want to do 2 days per city/town, and we need to start and end somewhere with a decent international airport. I was thinking we start in Ljubjana, head to Croatia then either into Bosnia, Serbia or Montenegro?
Aware we won't…
I'm flying to Zagreb this weekend and then taking the bus to Ljubljana. If our plane arrives in Zagreb at 13.30, would we have time to catch at bus that leaves for Ljubljana at 15.00, or is this not likely? Do we have to book in advance? Looks like some of the international buses are filling up earlier.
Also, I am going going from Bled back to Zagreb some days later. Are the local buses (like the one from Bled to Ljubljana) usually on time, or are they often delayed?
I am planning a car trip through Slovenia and Northern Croatia in August and would greatly appreciate some tips on interesting places to see/stops along or surrounding the following car journeys. We have one day to get from one place to the other, as we don’t want to rush and rather prefer to explore the area along the way:
From Lake Bohinj to Zagreb (no Lubijana as we will have done it by then – e.g. Otocek?)
From Zagreb to Plitvice lakes
From Plitvice Lakes to Opatija (e.g…

I am planning to travel to Slovenia in August this year. I am spending 5 days in Slovenia and want to take a night train to Budapest from anywhere in Slovenia.
I need pointers on where to how to book the train tickets in advance. I have been to Slovenian rail site but it dosent allow booking of international trains.
Any way i can book a ticket for the journey here from India ie online.
I will be travelling to Slovenia from Munich in the first week of July 2017. I would have to attend a conference in Munich before going to Slovenia hence my return flight ticket has been booked by my company from KL (Malaysia) - Munich - KL. My interest lies in nature, hiking and off-beaten paths. Museum and churches are not really my interest unless it is really worth it to visit. My trip will be completely dependent on public transport.
Hence, this is my planned itinerary:
Day 1 -…
