A friend and I are planning a trip to Slovenia from April 16-29. We will NOT have a car and therefore, are relying on public transportation.
Here is our tentative itinerary (Would love feedback on those who've been and those who've used public transport)

hi, we want to travel to Slovenia for a few weeks. Because of the school holidays we are restricted to the end of april or the beginning of july. Can someone tell us when is the best time to travel there, how is the weather/climate? we are going to travel with a 2 year old and want to travel around by car and visit some nice places. thank you for your help!
I am travelling to Zagreb, Croatia this summer and am hoping to drive from Zagreb through Slovenia to Italy. Are there any policies in regards to someone with a Canadian licence for crossing borders by car? Or is this something easy to do? Thanks in advance!
I am happily planning a holiday to Slovenia and Croatia in May/June, both of which I have briefly visited before, and want to see more. I know that questions of weather are notoriously difficult to answer but I would appreciate your opinion on whether I should travel from Dubrovnik to Venice or vice versa. I will have approximately 3 weeks in Slovenia and 3 in Croatia, plus probably a week in the area of Friuli. My travel will finish at the end of June, at latest. I'll be travelling solo…
We are going to Slovenia in May and are day hikers. We want to spend time in the Julian Alps area. Which town would be better to stay in, Kranjska Gora or Bovec? Any insight on either town and the surrounds would be much appreciated. Thanks.
We are going to take a train or bus from Zagreb into Ljubljana and would like to rent a car. There are just 2 of us and our luggage. Are there car rental places close to the bus and/or train station? We are looking to return the car to the airport when we leave 7 days later. Can anyone suggest an inexpensive car rental agency and/or what we should look for when renting a car? Thank you
Hi, can anyone recommend the better car hire companies at the airport? I believe some have mandatory additional costs not included in the rental price, such as out of hours fees and toll ticket charge. The cheapest ones I have seen are Sixt and SurPrice, both of which I have read some bad reviews on, especially SurPrice. Any experience or advice welcomed. We are hiring from 3-9 April and prices are rising!
I am trying to find out cost and journey length details for a taxi/shuttle service between Venice airport and Bohinj Lake and also Venice airport and Kranjska Gora. I have seen previous postings on rail/bus connections, but given time constraints I have decided to look at taxis as well. It would be for four people. I have sent off an email to Zup Prevozi but I wondered if anybody had any recommendations/recent experience?
Also, once we have all met up, we will be a group of 12 people in…
We're non-profit sport's association Planka from Slovenia that are well established in organizing downhill skating events in this part of the world. Downhill skateboarding or longboarding, is considered a dangerous sport that is usually practiced on open roads. That's why these kind of events are invaluable to any skater, as we do the road closure and secure it with hay bales in order to secure it for the riders.
For this year's KnK Longboard Camp we seek for 15 Course Marshal Volunteers. The…
We are thinking of visiting Slovenia in February for 15 days, we are a family of 3, 2 adults and a 3 year old baby.
We do not want to be in a rush schedule, we intend into taking things slowly and also feel the cities.
Since February is not a perfect timming into some outdoor visits, d you guys advise to stay thr 2 weeks in Ljubljana, or to rent a car and stay some where else? and where?
Or should we use Ljubljana as a basecamp and make day outs with a car?
Looking forward for your feedback!
