I was in Slovenia recently. There is a shuttlebus company with their minibusses just waiting outside the airport building. They seem to have at least 2 daily departures, at 11.00 and somewhere around 16.00. For timetable just have a look http://www.zup-prevozi.eu/en/destinations/slovenija/taxi-transfer-ljubljana-airport-bled.html or just write them an Email with your arrival or departure date to be sure. I didnt make a pre-arrival reservation, just payed my ticket on the spot which was 13 EUR to…
I was wondering if anyone who has been to Slovenia knows a way to get to the Skocjan Caves and then to Predjama Castle by public transportation, as a day trip from Ljubljana. They don't seem far from each other, but I can't find a bus or train between them.
I know it would be easier to see the Postojna Caves, but I would like to do to Skocjan, if possible.
Thank you very much for the advice.
Are there any companies that would (A) Rent me a bicycle (B) Take me to the beginning of the trail so I can ride it one way
I ride quite a few miles on my road bike per day. What is the expected time to ride this? Is it all on paved path?
We are 3 friends in our mid 20's who are planning to travel to the region in mid September.
We start in Croatia, and we are trying to decide whether to make Montenegro-Serbia our next stop, or go to Slovenia instead.
Since both Montenegro and Slovenia seem beautiful and equally priced, the point of balance is on the difference between Ljubljana and Belgrade in terms of our "city" experience for the trip with the nightlife being an important factor.
Ljubljana looks to me a lot more…
We're three friends and we wish to travel in Slovenia for a week at the start of September.
We have some problems while trying to plan our trip, because we have to use the public transportation to each point in out trip. We've booked an apartment in Bled for the whole week, and we wish to go to daily-routes each day.
It could really help if you can help us with the planning, by giving us major interesting points in Slovenia that are accessible by public transportation. We like great views…
Fellow Travellers out there,
We're thinking of going from Vienna to Bled? Any suggestions as to best travel? Train or Buses? Should we best go to Ljubjana first?
Also, if anyone can recommend a nice quiet village that we can use as a base for some hikking, we would be most grateful!
We are two guys in our mid-twenties and we are looking for somewhere to stay 1 night between august the 31st and september the 1st either in Slovenia or Croatia, since we are spending our weekend ( august 28-31) at Ljubljana and then traveling to Zagreb. However a friend of ours cancelled the night so we are trying to see if we go from Ljubljana straight to Zagreb, to Rijeka or Pula, to Maribor maybe or to some other recommended spot where we can easily travel the next day to Zagreb.
My girlfriend and I are planning to spend a week in Slovenia at the start of August, potentially spending some time in Bovec. We understand from reports that following an accident a couple of years ago, the Kanin cable car has been closed, which potentially restricts access (without a long walk) to the high alpine walks.
Does anyone know if it is still closed?
My two friends and I will be in Slovenia on 8-15th(Wednesday-Wednesday) of july.
I have some questions:
1)Is it so difficult to travel in Slovenia without a car(we're 19 so we cannot rent one).
2)How do I get from ljubljana to trieste?
3)Since i'm without a car, and friday-saturday i'm in trieste, where and when to sleep in which nights(bled and lubljana i guess).
I am booking a surprise 30th birtday trip to Slovenia at the end of the month and have been advised to book up some accomodation as it is really busy then, but this means pinning down an itinerary! This is a lot easier when there is the other person to talk it though with, although as it is a surprise, this isn't going to happen!
Therefore, if anyone has any thoughts, tips and help on the below route, that would be amazing! Pace, things I should include/take out etc. We like to keep…
