I'm considering travelling to Slovenia next year, as part of a longer trip. It seems to be quite an interesting country that is "European without the tourists" (for Australians, anyway). I'm not interested in Italy/France but would still like to see beautiful old buildings, cobblestones, old towns, etc. I realise that it's a very small country and one or two weeks will allow me to see most of the country.
To those that have visited - did you like Slovenia? Are my impressions…
I would be traveling from Ljubljana to Venice and then continuing to Bergamo, but for some reason I can't find more information about the bus lines operating this route. I know that there is goopti but I couldn't find out the exact times and nobody is responding to my inquiry from their company.
I would appreciate very much if somebody could point me in the right direction.
I will be visiting Lake Bled for 2 days in the month of October.
Can you tell me the places which I must see / cover during my stay in Lake Bled. Amongst others, I also intend to visit Lake Bohinj from Lake Bled.
I will be visiting Ljubljana for 2 days in the month of October.
Can you tell me the places which I must see / cover during my stay in Ljubljana. I am also intending purchase the Ljubljana Card. Will that be of any use? Or should I go for the City Pass instead.
PS: Museums don’t interest me, but I am a big fan of monuments and buildings.
I am trying to book a night at the Vodnikov Don Hut en route to Mt. Triglav. I have sent a few emails to two email addresses I found online:
But have not gotten a reply. I have two questions:
1. Do I even need reservations? or is it first come first served?
2. If I do need reservations, does anyone know how to contact the hut masters/make a reservation?
Thank you in advance for your help!

My wife and I are bringing our 9 month old daughter to Slovenia this week and we'll spend about a week in the mountains and a week on the coast, with a couple of days in Ljubljana in between. So I was wondering about bringing a pram on buses and trains, mainly on local buses. Is it possible to bring it on the local buses that run along the coast? And what about the public buses in Ljubljana?
Our daughter, like us, is on a vegetarian (lacto-ovo) diet and mostly eats what we eat in mashed form…
