Hey

I am looking for some, not too difficult, hiking trails near Bratislava. Male Karpaty looks good, but I can't find any sites in English that show full routes. If someone could help, you would be my hero!

I`ll visit the Andy Warhol Museum in Medzilaborce this September. I have a couple of days to play with after that.

Is there anything nearby that you would recommend? Want to stay in the area. Open to anything, really.

I´ll be arriving from and returning to Rzeszow, Poland.

Hiking in the lower Beskid Mountains sounds like an idea. Any mountain hut / hostel / hotel or hiking trail you would recommend? Any other ideas?

Much appreciated.

I'm spending a weekend in Bratislava and would love to join folks who are around, July 29-31, to tour the city or leave it and see some interesting sites.

I rented a small apartment with a cozy couch if needed.

Hi. I am staying in Budapest for 4 nights and would like to stay in Vienna and brataslavia too. Then up to Prague. Which of the two cities is easier to get yo by train and then up yo Prague. Either Vienna of Bratislava. Also how many nights would you recommend staying in each to see the main sites. Thank you

Hi. I am currently in Novi Sad, Serbia, and thinking of possibly traveling to Stary Smokovec in the High Tatras for hiking. The original plan for my trip had been to do a loop around the Balkans from Albania to Bosnia to Serbia to Romania to Bulgaria. I am an avid hiker and trying to figure out whether the detour to Stary Smokovec would be worthwhile. I have heard that the hiking in this area is wonderful and that Stary Smokovec is the best place in which to base oneself. I would go to Budapest…

Hi everyone,

since the thorn tree community was always so nice and helpful I would like to ask you this time for your advice on Slovakia.
We will be going to Slovakia for 8 full days and want to stay in Bratislava the first day, stay in Slovensk raj for some hiking 2 days and spend 3 days in the High Tatras

I am just wondering what to do in the 'inbetweens'. Could you recommend some nice places to visit on the way from Bratislava to Levoca (our base for slovensky raj and already booked)? We…

Hey

Thinking of visiting Slovakia late June this year and mostly had in mind some time in Bratislava and then go hiking in the High Tatras.
The thing is I travel alone. In city time its no brainer and I can do it just fine. When I hike though, I'm more into hiking with someone else (or even a group).
I saw that Zdiar has a hostel - so my question is for those of you whove been there - do you know if it's a place where I can meet other solo travelers and join together for hikes? Or is it more of…

So myself and a couple friends decided to go on an adventure, we've booked flights and tickets for Pohoda music festival in early july, at Trencin airport, and allowed ourselves 7 days to walk there from Bratislava.
We want to follow the The Slovak National Uprising Heroes Trail (Cesta hrdinov SNP) but there is very little information (let alone in English!). Does anyone know where we can get to the trail once we arrive in the capital?
We also need to know if wild camping is fine in Slovakia, if…

Hi,
Myself and my partner are spending three nights in Bratislava and we are thinking about taking the train to Piestany to spend a few hours at the thermal baths in the Thermia Palace Hotel. We have been to thermal bath complexes in many countries, including those in Baden Baden in Germany and were wondering whether the Hotel had a good range of facilities on offer such as hammams, saunas, relaxation rooms, jacuzzis etc. Also is it worth the two hours travelling there and back?
Any information…
