I am looking for a nice multi-day (from 3 to 7) hike in the high tatras mountains. I'd like to backpack there and sleep in a tent. I am an experienced hiker (lots of multiday hikes in the pyrenees and the alps). Does anybody now about some nice. I do not have a drivers licence so ideally I would like to start from a place accessible by transports andopen to taking a taxi to the starting point as well. Do somebody now some websites/books where I can find some good multiday trails there?
We would like to do a 3-4 day hike sleeping in huts overnight. We will be hiking between 6-10th of June and realize all major paths are still "closed". We are good hikers and would like to do medium to heavy hikes. Is it recommended to book a hut in advance at this time of year? Would we go for low or high Tatra? Slovak or Polish side? Are the paths really closed until the 15th?
Nice itinerary suggestions would be highly appreciated!!
Hello everyone! First of all, sorry for my horrible spelling... Is it easy enough to find buses from Spisska Nova Ves to Spisske Podhradie to visit the castle? Also, from there we'd like to go to Kosice. Are there buses or trains? I couldn't find great options (for end of July) on rome2rio, for example...
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Hi fellow travelers, I am hoping to be able to teach ESL in Slovakia later this year or next year. Does anyone have or know a contact person or website that has been vetted for reliability that I would be able to correspond with about this subject? The internet is filled with ESL info on Slovakia, but on the other hand, how much of it is reliable and trustworthy? I really don't know. Thank you in advance.
Hello, I plan a trip with my family this coming August. Landing in Vienna, travelling most of the time in Slovakia. Is it better to rent a car in Vienna and drive through, or take the bus from Vienna to Bratislava and rent a car there? We will be travelling for about three weeks. I wish to know what is cheaper, safer ect. Thank you.
My partner and i are planning to spend 7-10 days in Slovakia AND Czech Republic in May 2017. Australians (though better half also has Brit passport), we'll be flying from and back to UK. UK-Prague clearly no prob, what about UK-Slovakia? In to one and back from the other? Is driving/train from Vienna better?
Must include Kosice in the east because of family origins there. Can we drive in both countries with a single rental in one or other? Or is it better to use trains, buses, trams etc…
Hi friends...In Oct I will be spending three weeks traveling Gdansk to Budapest. I would like to see some of Slovakia. I don't really need to go to Bratislava do I? What are your suggestions for route and transport Krakow to Budapest via Levoca. I want my Slovakia hub to be a rural hub as I will need a break from urban hubs. I am thinking 4 days from point to point (Krak/Buda). Someone recommended Levoca but I am open to other suggestions.
Thanks and happy trails!

Hi Everyone. I will be spending three days in Bratislava ,from Canada, in May. I will be arriving by bus at the Novy Most station. I an considering staying at Blues Hostel or Possonium, from where I plan to tour the city on foot. Any suggestions of where to stay or what to do would be greatly appreciated. I like old buildings, museums, markets, and people watching. Thank you in advance.
