Business hours
Stores and offices are open during the week from 8am to 6pm while grocery stores usually open around 7:30pm and close at 7pm.
Restaurants usually serve breakfast between 7am and 10am, lunch starts around 11:30am and goes until 2:30pm, while dinner starts at 6pm and lasts until 10pm or later, depending on the establishment. Local joints tend to have more flexible hours.
The two most common religious groups on Statia are Seventh Day Adventists and Roman Catholics: on Saturday the Seventh Day Adventists’ establishments are closed and on Sunday it’s the Roman Catholics that close up shop.
