Miriam Schmidt Botanical Gardens information
The semiwild botanical gardens grow across the southern slopes of the island's dormant volcano, the Quill. Though still a work in progress, a visit here is a fragrant introduction to the island's rich flora. A Sensory Garden, Palm Garden and Kitchen Garden are already completed along with the short Bird Observation Trail and a Look-out Garden with views of St Kitts. It's about 5km east of Oranjestad; a taxi ride is US$15.
