Soak in the Christmas spirit
Blog: nateniale { reflections on my travels and everything else I love } - 18 December 2011
{ Singapore - December 2011 } While I do not celebrate Christmas, I love the idea that Christmas conjure up in my mind - beautiful golden balls, sparkling lights, powdery snow, crackling warm fireplace, Christmas trees, mistletoe, sharing of gifts, and of course, the big fat man with a long white beard. Well, these, I have to admit, are probably from all the American movies and TV series that I have seen, but I love it anyway.

Brightly lit up Christmas trees
Blog: nateniale { reflections on my travels and everything else I love } - 16 December 2011
{ Singapore - December 2011 } Singapore may be in the tropics, and the weather is hot and humid with lots of rain, but that does not stop this tiny red dot from going all out with Christmas decorations. You just need to take a walk down Orchard Road to soak in the atmosphere. There are so many beautifully decorated trees along the festive road, that I lost count after awhile. Love how each of them are so different, and yet unmistakably Christmassy!

Mustafa 24 Hour Shopping Center in Singapore
Blog: Malaysia Asia - 20 September 2011
Mustafa 24 Hour Shopping Center in Singapore is the only place where you can do your shopping at three o'clock in the morning. Shopping at 3am! Seriously? Well, ever since the late 90s when I visited Singapore frequently, I would come here at the oddest hours in the morning to buy my stuff. This way, the crowd would be less, no traffic jams and the weather would be much cooler.

Singapore Zoo has to be one of the cleanest and nicest zoo's I have visited and this is a travel bloggers fact from me. The plan was to check out of our hotel, Traders at the top of Orchard Road, and check into The Siloso Beach Resort on Sentosa Island for 3 nights; If your planning a holiday in Singapore, it may be of interest to you to know that by staying in the ‘City’ at the weekend I got a very good, almost half price room rate at Traders. Then the quote for Siloso Beach was reduced, again by 50%, due to the stay being during the week as opposed to the weekend. This is due to the fact that Sentosa is very busy at weekends.

"... they are human beings seen in their agony. This is not art, it is not imitation;these are their bones, the remains of their flesh and their clothes mixed with plaster,it is the sadness of death that characterises body and form. I see their wretchedness.I hear their cries as they call to their mothers, and I see them fall and writhe..."Luigi Settembrini (1813-76)
