Lonely Planet review for Robertson Quay
Robertson Quay was once thronging with boat repairers and timber mills. Near Saigon Bridge are the river's last derelict godown (warehouses), held together with tree roots and rust - given Singapore's appetite for destruction, they won't last much longer! There's a healthy crop of hotels, nightclubs and restaurants clustered around here too.

Civilised place with good restuarants.
papanesz recommends this,
Away from the hustle of Boat Quay and Clarke Quay, this place is relaxing and civilised. You can enjoy a quite glass of wine sitting by the river, or a three course meal inside an air-conditioned restaurant.
There are many places to choose from, but my favourite is just walking beside the river at sunset, marvelling how clean and green it is in Singapore.

A nice stretch of restaurants on the Singapore River
nadmac recommends this,
Quieter than its neighbors Clake Quay and Boat Quay, Robertson is popular on the evenings and weekends with families and with expats. Surrounded by condo complexes as well as hotels, it is a picturesque walk along the Singapore river lined with restaurants that run the gamut from Chinese to Italian to Japanese to Belgian. Walk along and choose what suits your fancy. Prices tend to be on the higher side.
