Lonely Planet review for Kinara

Take a riverside table or eat inside the renovated shophouse, decked-out like a haveli (ornately decorated Indian residence) with copper, iron, teak and sandstone. Try the tandoori hari machli aftab (boneless fish tikka marinated and cooked in the oven).

Good North indian Food, Top notch service & Lovely ambience

    ajaysharma recommends this,

Being a North Indian, I have been to Kinara a number of times. It is famous for its Kashmiri and Punjabi food. Kinara which means river shore has one of its branch in Boat Quay. The waterfront view there is very appealing, so it has a good romantic atmosphere. You'll find everything there as true authentic north Indian - from the furnishings, decorations, chef and even all the service staff. You'll also be treated with good sounds of ethnic music.
I have tried many dishes at Kinara. Every dish is an example of the fabulous chemistry of spices and aromatic vegetables Indian meals are famed for. The menu offers an extensive selections from appetizers, tandoori kebabs, currries, meat dishes, vegetables, rices, assorted range of naans and desserts. But I prefer their vegeterian food more especially the Kashimiri Naan, stuffed tomatoes and lassi. Their desserts are a little disappointing especially if you are looking for traditional Indian kulfi.
Their serving style is good. They serve all the main courses and naan (Indian bread) together instead of coming one by one. So you can have an uninterrupted time of eating and chatting with friends or family.
They have also started home deliveries and express orders.
The overall ambience is good although the prices are on the higher side making one wonder and that too with normal size serving. It is due to its location but you can be assured that the service is friendly and very helpful. I think the atmosphere and environment is worth paying for!!!

    skythong recommends this,

Went there a while back with my wife.
Nice Northern Indian food. Reminiscent of your good English curry house but with better flavours and spices. All dishes especially their vegetarian dishes are lovely. Nan bread was fresh and delicious
    Staff generally helpful.
Try and get the seats upstairs that look over the river and Boat Quay.
