Lonely Planet review for Old Airport Rd Food Centre

One of the great things about eating in Singapore is that the most unappealing-looking places often house the most revered hawkers. This hidden nook boasts Matter Rd Seafood (sign is famously misspelled, but famous for white-pepper crab), Toa Payoh Rojak and much beloved fried Hokkien prawn noodle.

    Old Airport..renewed

    hppls23 recommends this,

    Well, this place has been renovated ("upgraded" in local lingo) and looks a whole lot cleaner and better nowadays. It's so chockful of good food stalls that even if you were to pick one randomly, you'll probably end up with something absolutely delicious. For adventurous foreign visitors, try "lor mee" - yellow wheat noodles in a thick brown broth. Best when topped with a spoonful ofchopped garlic and a dash of vinegar - but if you're worried about the aftertaste, it's good even without these condiments. Finish off with a glass of cold, refreshing sugar cane.

    There a number of good food offer this this hawker center, but the very best I have to mention is the Western food stall. Must try the Mix grill, which offer a very good taste and the portion is big.

    Price = SGD$7.50 (Mix Grill)

    Good Foods attract people

    Like the old saying mentioned.. if you are good... good luck will comes to you... same for food. If the food is nice... no matter where is the location... people will find their way there.

    I am so gald there's still such good food concentrated hawker centre in singapore..
    People who want to visit the place... i won't recomend on which stalls to visit as it's unfair to other stalls that also serving good food. i will only hints you people.. must try the wanton mee, crabs, stingray... and for water barrel like me.. order the ulitmate size sugar can.. If you are a bunch of girls.. i think easily can share up to 3 pax.. if i am not wrong it's around 1Litre in volume.think twice and wise i will say..haha.

    the only 2 negative points i can think of will be the location and parking... location is out from town and attraction.. if you are driving definitely not a problem..but finding a lot for parking will be a headache... but i will conclude that all these trouble are worth it considering the amount of good quality food waiting ahead for you.

    Pricing is reasonable/ cheap.
    Quality is above average
    A good place for cyclist from ECP too
