Lonely Planet review for Island Creamery

Small and nondescript, with only a handful of tables, Island Creamery serves ice creams and sorbets that are the stuff of legend. Local flavours are a speciality, including teh tarik (Indian spiced tea), cendol and the refreshing Tiger Beer sorbet. Others, like burnt caramel, black forest, Horlicks and berry are just plain superb. Be prepared to eat standing up.

    Local Flavours

    foodiesg recommends this,

Island Creamery stands out among the many creameries popping up on this island, with its unique local flavours. Its proximity to many schools in the area, keeps it busy with the student hordes coming through its doors. Walls are dotted with DIY mobile camera snaps, which can be printed free upon request in the shop.

The texture of its ice cream is light, and less creamy than most other ice cream, and hence is prone to melting quickly. What it lacks in richness and creaminess, Island Creamery makes up for this with its wide array of local flavours, that might seem strange to overseas visitors.
