Lonely Planet review for Bras Basah Food Court

Surprisingly untouristy, this cooks up Malay and Chinese favourites - the chicken noodle oyster sauce from May Flower (stall 79-05) will fill you full of carbs.

    Hidden Treasure

    eveho does not recommend this,

This is not one of those hawker centres that attract big crowds, but there are still some stalls worth coming for.
I know of a really authentic Hainanese food stall from my dad. The food is affordably priced, unlike some other cze char stall. And the ingrdients used are really fresh.
The steamed fish head is one of my favorites. The fish is fresh and cooked just nice. The sweet and sour pork chop is superb! You can still feel the crunchiness even after it was drained a sauce so addictive, you won't stop after the last bite.
There's another stall that sell oyster omelette that is worth trying while waiting for the fish head. The oyster is not overcooked, the egg and flour mixture is crispy. Dunk it in the chilli and it adds a punch to every mouth.
