Lonely Planet review for Crystal Jade Kitchen

This busy, carpeted Cantonese place is one of many reliable Crystal Jades across the city. There's an extensive numbered 'I want that one' menu (try the congee) and several set menus.

    MUST try!

    cchew recommends this,

    I would recommend

    1. Crispy Chicken. The meat is tender and sweet and the skin is also very crispy.

    2. Their Hokkien Beancurd Claypot is also commendable. The tofu is in small cubes with a generous portion of fresh prawns and tender chicken pieces. The sauce makes the dish even more tasty and fragrant.

    3. Egg and Prawn Hor Fun. Fresh and sweet prawns and soft hor fun with the tasty gravy over them.

    4. The stew chicken claypot is also nice. Fragrant and soft rice cooked in claypot. The meat is also tender and sweet.

    5. Baby Kailan stir fried with garlic. Fresh and crunchy vegetables with gravy. Simple yet tasty.

The restaurant serves a wide variety of dishes. Service is also good- staff is attentive to the consumers' needs such as refilling the tea when the cup is half full. They are also very efficient. Dishes are scrumptious and prices are reasonable. A place that is worth visiting!

    Good traditional Chinese Tucker

    skythong recommends this,

    Yummy.
Never had a bad meal here. Ambience a bit scruffy I think and needs updating upstairs. Feels like a large bathroom.
Came here on the Crab promotion event in Nov 2007. Enjoyed garlic crab cooked in chinese wine.
Friendly waitress (who was a little scarey initially - a bit like that chinese waitress in Love Actually) She was very patient with our Ang-Mo: "DON'T KNOW WHAT THE f@%K TO ORDER BUT I LIKE WHAT THOSE CHINESE PEOPLE ARE EATING".. Can I have that... then point!
Wife loves their beef and black pepper sauce - lovely chunks of fillet steak done to perfection. I love their roasted meat, fried rice, seasonal vegetables. Simply great. Can be a tad expensive so watch what you order
I would like to try the beef brisket noodles on the recommendation of the others next time I am in town

Must Tries: black pepper beef, seasonal vegetables

    Great Place for Dim Sum

    eveho recommends this,

One of my favourite places for Dim Sum. Other than the extensive menu of Dim Sum, you will find a variety of noodles and rice items. Reasonably priced and not bad service.
