Once you step in, you will be greeted first by an elegantly furnished tea lounge of antique furniture, and retreat into a large breezy dining room decorated with soothing cream tones and hints of opulent gold. 
Delicious smells waft throughout the restaurant and induce your hunger pangs. Tea masters who skillfully serve tea to the diners in its most traditional manner will wow you.
First, we tried the 5-delicacy combination and 8-Treasure Seafood Soup. The soup is fit for royal with 8 different delights harmoniously blended – an assortment of fresh crabmeat, shark's fin, crab roe, scallops, dried scallops, pork and sea cucumber enrobed in a spinach puree. 
Next is the Chongqing Diced Chicken that has reduced all of us to tears due to its spicyness. Finely cut fried chicken bits and an abundance of dried chilli challenge all brave enough to taste it. Another must-try is the Spicy & Sour Meat Dumpling in Chilli Oil with minced meat snugly tucked into smoothly textured pouches, best eaten soaked in its gravy. Some might find the chilli oil a tad too unhealthy for their liking though.
The desserts are worth saving the stomach for. The home-made silky soft beancurd is reason enough for me to return for a 2nd time. Freshly-made daily without much sugar added, the beancurd slides through your throat smoothly. We also tried the delicious Sesame Glutinous Rice Balls that induce memories of home-made goodness. 
We heard the team that helm the kitchen hail from Sichuan and Guangzhou, and this guarantees the authentic flavour. With the abundance of Chinese restaurants in our culinary scene, this restaurant is an unexposed gem. Seeped in tradition and culture, dining here will be enjoyable for most guests, whether young or old. Si Chuan Dou Hua offers an authentic flavour of Sichuan, while simultaneously attempting to introduce Thai-Cantonese fusion to the local palate.
