First of all, this is a great forum - been looking around for a while :)
We are 28yo couple arriving to the Seychelles for vacation (we arrive from long safari/driving trip..so mainly to rest but we'll go also to the main attractions), and we have a few questions -
First of all, currently we plan to do 3 full days in Praslin and 4.5 full days in Mahe - would you suggest any different? Perhaps La Digue? the hotels in Mahe seems nicer from initial look though...we look for…
I am planning to visit the Seychelles for a not too long period of time and then fly to Madagascar. Which place or website sells the cheapest flights for this?
Usually, I don't like to plan ahead too much. However, in this case, since money matters to me, I suppose it would it be advised to buy the ticket from the Seychelles to Madagascar in advance, right? How much is the ticket if I buy it in Mahe?
Hi! We live near Cape Town and will be in Seychelles (Quincy, Mahe) for 2 weeks for Christmas and New Year. How is transportation by bus on the island of Mahé? Should we buy a pass or pay in roupies. Thanks for info. Carole
Hi everyone - I am staying one night in the Seychelles on my way to Madagascar. I want to see the giant tortoises that they have at the botanical gardens (I thought they lived on the main Island but it appears they are only at the botanical gardens). Where would you recommend to stay that is not too far from the airport or the botanical gardens.
I want to stay 3 nigts in La digue and 4 night in Praslin, and i'm having a hard time to figure out when is the best time to visit.
I want a warm weather with no rain or showers, and without seaweeds. I'v read that April and May are the best month, but when i checked the weather for May-this month, on Accuweather web, it shows that may wiil be rainy almost the entire month.
Then i thoght about July or Aogust, but iv'e read that on those months the a lot of the beaches in Praslin and La digue…
We are travelling to see our family in Western Australia in October and planning a couple of weeks in the Seychelles en route.
So many islands; so many options! We are a fairly fit mid-late sixties couple looking for a quiet stay to enjoy relaxing beach life with some swimming and snorkelling - preferably snorkelling close to the shore for a nervous snorkeller - me!
We are hoping to book a small hotel or guest house rather than the huge 5* resort hotels if possible.
Any advice on location…
A friend and I are looking for affordable accommodations in Victoria or Beau Vallon area. We are senior citizens so don't want a hostel or place without an ensuite bath. We will be taking a snorkel trip on a boat leaving from Victoria, but will have a few days before the boat. We don't plan on renting a car, so need someplace within a reasonably priced taxi ride from the airport and the port.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Yes I know it isnt big but since we will bring a baby we would prefer the best location on the island. What beach on the west coast is the nicest one (except d'argent)? Is the "center" on the island La Passe? When I look for cheap guest houses most of them are around Anse Severe. Is that kind of off?
We are planning for a self catering trip to the three main islands in October. We will bring our one year old so we would like to know about the sizes and prices in supermarkets on the islands since we plan to do all our cooking. I guess Victoria has dscent sized supermarket but what about Praslin and La Digue? When I googled I found that they opened a good sized supermarket on La Digue a year or so ago. I think it was called STC or something similiar.
