Tournesol Guest House
A no-frills option in a verdant compound.
Glossy brochures focus on ultraswish resorts but the Seychelles actually has a pretty wide range of accommodation options. In addition to sumptuous island hideaways, it offers a range of affordable intimate hotels, picturesque Creole guesthouses and self-catering accommodation. Though the Seychelles remains an expensive destination, its tourist authorities are now promoting these more economical options.
For a double room, you can expect to pay under €100 for budget accommodation, €100 to €250 for midrange and over €250 for top-end rooms. Rates include all government taxes, and often include breakfast. Recommendations in our Sleeping entries are in ascending order of price.
Note that all accommodation in the Seychelles is registered and regulated by the Ministry of Tourism. This ensures a certain standard of service and facilities. Check out www.seychelles.com for the list of accommodation options. Other useful websites include www.seychelles-resa.com and www.seychellessecrets.com.
Camping is forbidden anywhere on the islands.
Virtually all the hotels charge higher rates during peak periods (Christmas to New Year and Easter). Book well ahead.
