Hi there-

My girlfriend and I are traveling to Senegal for 12 days. We're trying to work out an initin that has a good balance of city, culture, beach and adventure. Money isn't an object. If there's anything we're missing and NEED to do or should skip, thank you in advance. Also still unsure how we're going to get from place to place, I know it always works out, but any info there rocks.

Here's where we are for now:

Oct 1-3 - Dakar
Oct 3-4 - St Louis (stop Pink Lake)
Oct 4-6 - Lampoul…

Hi

I'm going to Senegal for work in November 2016. I will have three days before the conference starts for tourism things and either one or two days after, depending on when I book flights. I will be based in Les Almadies, near the airport whilst working - those days will be jam packed though and won't have time to do anything in that area on those days, even in the evenings. I will be travelling alone, and am female in my mid twenties, don't speak much french.

I'm thinking for the 3 days…

Dakar

Best Readers,

i'm looking forward to go to Dakar around October.

From Holland you can fly with Tui and even also with Tap Portugal.
TUI i know the flights Always good, no problems.

But have anyone experience with Tap Portugal?
If you have 55 minutes to go to the other flight, is that enough in Lissabon??
And the suitcases? Is that all going fine?

Thanks for you reply!

Hi, All

I'm planning to go Dakar at the end of this month or early next month, a quick visit. If possible could you share some advice with me?
First, i'm not a French speaker. How bad will it be when i land, i mean in the custom, is there any staff who can speak English?
Second, how to rent a car with driver(could English), does anyone happen to know some guy doing this business? Just inside Dakar, what's the cost?
Third, could anyone recommend some restaurants serving french food? If possible…

Hi all!

Im just about to head out to Senegal for a 6 month research project. I know that for 3 months no visa is necessary but to extend it for 6 months I need to register with the local authorities to get a ‘Carte d’Etranger'. There's another British guy out there on the project already and when he asked the authorities for this extension they told him it doesn't exist :/. Does any one know anything about this or the best way to get around it if this is going to be an issue??

Many Thanks!

Jo…

Hello Thorn Trees,

I am planning a ride on my bike (BMW F800GS) from Dakar to Casamance.

I currently live in Dakar anyway (expat), just wondering about the route from Saly, Fatick through Sine Saloum to the border crossing at Karang Senegal Gambian border onwards to the ferry at Barra, Banjul and down through to Casamance.

Is it a hassle to get a Gambian visa and vice versa back into Senegal. I am Australian and we currently can Visa at the arrival airport, just not sure about the land…

Dear all,

just got back from Dakar. I want to recommend a great driver/tourguide to you. Mamadou has his own car speaks good spanisch, english and french and definitely knows his ways around all of senegal. He drove me from Dakar to Banjul and back in one day, allthough he doesn´t do these tours anymore and is more focussed on guiding, makes sense since he knows a lot about the country.

He always answered my questions within 12 hours via email hello.taxi7places@gmail.com

You can find some…
