Lonely Planet review
The Ceilidh Place is one of the more unusual and delightful places to stay in the Highlands. Rooms pleasingly go for character over modern conveniences and, rather than television, come with a selection of books chosen by Scottish literati, eclectic artwork and nice little touches like hot-water bottles. Best of all is the sumptuous lounge, with sofas, chaises longues and an honesty bar. The hotel, which includes a bookshop, is also a celebration of Scottish culture, with a capital C – we’re talking literature and traditional music, not tartan and Nessie dolls. A great place.
