I will be visiting a grave in Sandymount Cemetery but I cannot find online the hours. Does anyone know how I can find this out, or can someone look this up for me? Or is the cemetery open 24 hours a day?
Currently planning a trip between Ullapool and Durness, but not sure on the best time to go and nature of the trip.
Would like to camp but that would require driving up from Oxford - a long way to drive alone. Alternatively thought about flying to inverness, hiring a car and staying in B&Bs.
Also unsure on whether to head up in the busy mid-August period or wait until first couple of weeks in September. September could work better as less insects and should be quieter.
Any thoughts or…
From early August I'll be off for a close to eight week trip in Ireland and Scotland.
Am planning to take the ferry from Ireland to Scotland around the 23rd of August.
I am planning to not arrive in Scotland until late August because I have heard that this is the worst month for midges in the Highlands!
I am bringing my tent and for both the experience and for saving money, am planning on wild camping most of the time. I am used to the outdoors and have good and warm equipment, but would love…
I am planning to be in Scotland for a week at the end of January and was wondering if due to the weather it is possible to hire a car in Edinburgh and drive up to Inverness and into some of the highland villages or whether we should stick to the train. Any suggestions or experience of this. Scotland looks so beautiful under snow... Thanks in advance
Hello, my name is Cristian, I'm from Spain and I'm 21 years old.
The most possible, the next month I'll leave my current job and I will take my backpack and I'll travel around Scotland visiting every important city from this amazing country!
but I wouldn't like to take this trip alone.
I would like someone to join to my trip and to say me some ideas about what to do and how to improve it.
I would travel using the bus and the train and sleeping in hostels and trying to spend the lest money…
I am planning a trip for next June that need to covers the following areas
Is there a way to get from near Giant's Causeway to Islay? is there a boat or anything that we would be able to catch? Or do we need to go back to Dublin and catch a flight to Glasgow? Any help here would be much appreciated.
My son will be moving to Scotland next month for a minimum 3 year work position. Just wondering if anyone can suggest affordable ways for him to relocate his personal effects, guitar, etc - basically all that won't easily fit into a suitcase. There seem to be plenty of options via sea freight, unaccompanied baggage etc, but having had no experience with any of these I would really appreciate any feedback form those who may have recently moved overseas
My boyfriend and I will be in Scotland between March 23 - 27 and are looking for suggestions on what to do in Edinburgh! My original plan was to go to Glasgow and make a trip to Fort Williams, however, the weather may not be ideal so I figured Edinburgh is more of a safe bet in order to enjoy our stay! We are open to any suggestions as to what to do from those who know Edinburgh like the back of their hands! We definitely want to check out some beautiful scenic views of the countryside near…
I'm planning on driving around Scotland in September and would like to remain flexible so would not prefer to set up firm reservations schedule beforehand. Is there a resource to make reservations in budget type hotels as I go or at least a good list anywhere? I've heard that it's not too booked up then. I would prefer budget hotels and spend on food (and of course gas) instead. Any general advice about this?
I plan on moving to Glasgow in April 2017 for two years, the plan is to go over on a "Youth Mobility Visa 5". I'm going to stay in an Airbnb for the first month as I figured that would be the best way to get to know what area to live in and to also get a job. Does anyone have any tips/advice on working/living in Glasgow? Is it easy to get a job? I only plan on casual/shift style work as i want to be able to spend time going on mini trips around Scotland. I would hate to have to come home after…
